The inaugural meeting of SIGA LATIN AMERICA marked a significant milestone with the launch of the FAIR Platform, which stands for Fórum de Apostas, Integridade e Regulação, or Sports Betting, Integrity and Regulation Forum. This initiative aims to enhance sports betting integrity throughout Brazil, bringing together operators and representatives from the Brazilian Government. FAIR Brazil

At this first gathering, sports betting operators who are members of SIGA LATIN AMERICA met with SIGA representatives and important government officials. Notable attendees included Giovanni Rocco Neto, the National Secretary of Sports Betting and Economic Development of Sport at the Ministry of Sport, and Regis Dudena, the Secretary of Prizes and Betting at the Ministry of Finance.

The platform has several key objectives. It aims to promote ongoing dialogue and cooperation between SIGA LATIN AMERICA and its members regarding issues that matter to the sports betting sector. In addition, it seeks to facilitate the sharing of knowledge and best practices around industry regulation and maintaining the integrity of sports. The FAIR platform also intends to build consensus on crucial matters of mutual interest, ensuring alignment with current legislation and SIGA’s Universal Standards on Sports Integrity. Furthermore, it focuses on analyzing and addressing the main challenges facing the sports betting industry while supporting SIGA LATIN AMERICA’s mission to enhance the credibility of both the sports and betting sectors.

Sports betting operators stand to benefit in various ways from this initiative. They will gain access to valuable insights from their peers, enabling them to stay ahead of trends and challenges. The platform promotes unified advocacy for sport integrity and encourages participation in discussions around sustainability and governance improvements within the industry. It also helps operators anticipate regulatory changes, ensuring ongoing compliance.

Management of the FAIR platform will fall under the administration of SIGA LATIN AMERICA, supplemented by an informal Steering Committee of members. This collaborative forum will be integrated with SIGA’s global and continental structures, including the Permanent Committees on Integrity and Sports Betting, reinforcing SIGA LATIN AMERICA’s commitment to integrity in the sports betting sector.
