The company aims to secure a temporary injunction that would allow it to operate legally within Ohio starting October 20. <\/strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-white-color\">Kalshi prediction ban<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The lawsuit, filed with the US District Court for the Southern District of Ohio in Columbus, claims that the regulator has exceeded its authority in attempting to ban Kalshi\u2019s prediction platform. Despite ongoing communications with the state in an effort to reach a resolution, the company argues that the regulator\u2019s actions are unjustified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Ohio, legal sports betting is strictly regulated and limited to licensed agencies. The Ohio Casino Control Commission issued a cease-and-desist order against <a href=\"https:\/\/kalshi.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Kalshi<\/a> in April, warning that engaging with the platform\u2014despite its current unregulated status\u2014could lead to penalties regardless of whether dealings occurred inside or outside the state. In August, the Ho-Chunk Nation filed a lawsuit against Kalshi, and in September, Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell accused the company of \u201cillegal and unsafe sports betting\u201d practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite these obstacles, Kalshi continues to grow.
