Six Operators Receive Michigan Online Gambling Cease-and-Desist Orders in Crackdown

In a decisive move to uphold consumer protections and regulatory integrity, the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has issued cease-and-desist notices to six online gambling platforms. These operators have been found to be offering internet-based gaming services to Michigan residents without the requisite licenses, violating state laws and undermining responsible gaming standards.

The companies in question—Bonus Blitz Casino, DomGame, Royal Ace Casino, Slots Capital, Supernova Casino, and Wins Mania—are accused of operating outside the boundaries of Michigan’s legal framework. Their actions breach the Michigan Lawful Internet Gaming Act, the Michigan Gaming Control and Revenue Act, and pertinent sections of the Michigan Penal Code.

MGCB Executive Director Henry Williams emphasized the seriousness of the violations: “These illegal operators often masquerade as legitimate gaming platforms, but they exist entirely outside the legal safeguards that protect consumers. When Michiganders play on unlicensed sites, they’re placing their personal and financial security at risk—with little to no recourse if things go wrong. This action sends a clear message to illegal operators: Michigan is not a place for rogue gambling.”

The crackdown follows a recent campaign that saw 14 cease-and-desist letters dispatched on May 9 to offshore gambling operators. These entities were unlawfully targeting Michigan residents with a variety of gaming offerings, from traditional casino games to sports betting, further underscoring the state’s commitment to regulating online gaming.

Why does this matter? Because unlicensed sites bypass Michigan’s established consumer protections, responsible gaming mandates, and transparent dispute resolution procedures—all critical elements designed to safeguard players and ensure fair play. The MGCB’s orders demand that these operators cease all Michigan-based activities immediately, or face escalating legal actions.

This enforcement underscores Michigan’s resolve to maintain a safe, legal online gaming environment and protect its residents from illicit operators operating in the shadows. Michigan online gambling cease-and-desist
