Bet365 Launches in Alberta with CFL Partnership

bet365 Debuts in Alberta’s Regulated iGaming Sector with CFL Partnership
bet365 has officially entered Alberta’s newly regulated iGaming market, marking its expansion beyond Ontario as the province’s framework comes into effect on July 13, 2026. Alongside this market entry, the operator has announced a multi-year partnership with the Canadian Football League (CFL).
Alberta Market Launch
Residents of Alberta now have access to bet365’s comprehensive sportsbook and casino offerings. This includes competitive odds, live betting options, and the company’s acclaimed Early Payout Offer, which allows bettors to receive winnings early when their team gains a commanding lead. Bet365 had already established a presence in Alberta by registering with the Alcohol Gaming and Liquor Commission (AGLC) in May, positioning itself as a “day-one” operator alongside several other sportsbooks launching on the same day.
The Alberta launch builds on bet365’s existing regulated operations in Ontario, where it previously expanded its live casino services through Ezugi.
The rollout introduces bet365’s “Sub On Play On” promotion to Alberta. This feature automatically transfers player-prop wagers such as anytime goalscorer, assists, and shots onto substitute players if the original athlete is replaced, keeping the bet active for the remainder of the game. Bet365 reports that this promotion has already gained international popularity, helping generate approximately $40 million in payouts worldwide during the first ten days of the 2026 World Cup. This occurred shortly after bet365 added a progressive jackpot feature to its betslip ahead of the tournament.
Trip Stoddard, Head of Development at bet365, commented: “Canada is a key market for bet365, and cementing our brand’s presence in Alberta marks another milestone in our long-term commitment to Canadian sports fans. We’re proud to work alongside Alberta’s regulators to give fans a trusted platform to engage with the sports they love through a responsible, world-class experience.”
Expansion of CFL Partnership
In addition to its market entry, bet365 has been named an Official Sports Betting and Online Casino Partner of the CFL, covering both Ontario and Alberta. This partnership grants the operator access to premium CFL content, media visibility, digital storytelling, and fan-focused activations throughout the season. This collaboration adds a Canadian football dimension to bet365’s expanding North American sponsorship portfolio, which already includes partnerships with major sports leagues and franchises across the region.
Grey Cup Highlight
The partnership coincides with the buildup to the 113th Grey Cup, scheduled at McMahon Stadium in Calgary on Sunday, November 15. As Canada’s largest single-day sporting event, the Grey Cup offers bet365 a significant platform to engage fans during the CFL’s championship weekend. The Alberta launch and CFL alliance follow bet365’s recent “Winning is Everything” brand campaign, which emphasizes its focus on competitive play alongside responsible gambling messaging. The company highlights its offerings of betting options across more than 96 sports and streaming over a million live events annually, with responsible gambling tools such as spend and session limits integrated into its app.
With Alberta joining Ontario as Canada’s second privatized iGaming market, bet365’s simultaneous market entry and league partnership demonstrate a strategic effort to strengthen its presence across the country’s regulated betting landscape ahead of an active fall sports schedule.
