The New York State Gaming Commission oversees the New York Lottery, while Brightstar Global Solutions Corporation is responsible for delivering technology and related services under the agreement, according to Brightstar’s official announcement.
Scott Gunn, Chief Operating Officer of North America Lottery at Brightstar, said the company remains committed to fulfilling its contractual obligations and supporting the lottery’s contribution to New York public schools.
The two-year extension underscores the importance of the long-standing relationship between Brightstar and the New York Lottery, particularly in maintaining the technology and operational services required to support lottery activities throughout the state.
History of the New York Lottery Contract
The agreement falls under contract C080005, which covers full-service lottery systems. The records also list three contract amendments and three statements of work.
In August 2022, IGT Global Solutions Corporation announced a four-year extension to continue serving as the New York Lottery’s primary technology supplier.

Brightstar Lottery’s Global Operations
Brightstar has an extensive international presence in lottery technology and services. According to the company, it is the primary technology provider to 26 of the 46 lottery jurisdictions in the United States and serves eight of the world’s 10 largest lotteries operating central systems.
The company supports nearly 90 lottery customers across six continents and employs approximately 6,000 people.
The New York contract extension follows other agreements secured by Brightstar in 2026. In May, the company extended its TIPOS contract in Slovakia through 2032. More recently, on 15 October, it secured five-year rights to Pan Am lottery games.
These agreements highlight Brightstar’s continued activity in the global lottery sector as operators and public authorities maintain and develop their lottery technology partnerships.
New York Lottery Contract Extension: What Happens Next?
Although Brightstar has confirmed the two-year extension, the precise duration of the renewed term remains unclear. At the time of the announcement, the New York State Gaming Commission’s contract page continued to list 6 August 2026 as the contract’s end date.
Brightstar has not confirmed whether the new two-year period begins from that date. The revised expiry date and other contractual details will need to be verified through an updated commission record or a further announcement from the company.
For now, the extension confirms Brightstar Lottery’s continued commitment to supplying technology and services to the New York Lottery, extending a relationship that has lasted nearly four decades.
