The upcoming “México con M de Migrante” draw is scheduled for September 15 at 4 p.m., coinciding with Mexico’s Independence Day and the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month in the United States. Each ticket offers a chance to win up to MXN25.5 million (approximately USD 1.42 million), symbolizing hope and solidarity across borders.

A total of four million tickets will be distributed internationally on this day, symbolically traveling “as embraces” between Mexico and its diaspora. Olivia Salomón, Director General of the National Lottery, highlighted that President Sheinbaum has emphasized that the funds raised from the draw, after awarding prizes, will be used to strengthen consular support and protect the rights of Mexicans abroad, especially during uncertain times. This initiative not only provides an exciting opportunity for participants but also reinforces the deep emotional and cultural ties that bind Mexico to its migrant communities.

Nelly Minerva Carrasco Godínez, Secretary of Culture and Tourism for the State of Mexico, expressed pride in her state’s support for the campaign. She emphasized that the lottery serves as a meaningful way to honor migrants who, despite being far from home, continue to contribute to their families, communities, and the nation at large. The campaign’s launch last week was a collaborative effort between the Government of Morelos and the National Lottery, demonstrating a united commitment to supporting Mexican nationals living abroad.

The event held in Tonatico brought together around 200 participants, including Olivia Salomón and Mayor César Fuentes Domínguez. Salomón noted that this is the first government-backed lottery specifically designed with a social cause in mind, creating a vital connection between Mexicans in the country and their migrant compatriots abroad. Overall, this initiative represents a significant step toward fostering national unity, cultural pride, and tangible support for Mexico’s diaspora community. mexico lottery
