San Luis Province Hosts Week-Long Open House to Spotlight Addiction Treatment Services

San Luis Province’s Health Department is set to host an immersive, week-long open house at its Addiction Prevention Center, shining a spotlight on the range of treatment options available for those battling problem gambling. This event, titled “CPAA Opens Its Doors,” aims to foster greater community awareness and transparency about the province’s addiction support services.
Taking place daily at the Center for Addiction Prevention and Assistance (CPAA), the open house will feature engaging, interactive sessions led by a team of multidisciplinary health professionals. The goal is to give residents an inside look at the comprehensive approach the center takes in addressing various addictions, including gambling, substance abuse, and tobacco dependence.
Attendees will learn about CPAA’s multi-faceted treatment model, which encompasses outpatient care, day programs, and group therapy. Special attention will be paid to services targeting gambling addiction, with explanations of relapse prevention strategies, pharmacy support, nursing care, and physical therapy options. The center also offers specialized therapeutic groups designed for specific groups such as adolescents, women, and individuals receiving treatment for alcoholism.

Each day’s activities will focus on different aspects of the center’s offerings. For example, Monday will feature presentations on pharmacy and outpatient services, while Tuesday will highlight programs tailored for women and young people. Wednesday’s focus will be on gambling addiction treatment, with Thursday dedicated to relapse prevention. The week will conclude on Friday with insights into alcohol recovery programs.
Throughout the event, professionals will set up dedicated interactive stations to share insights, answer questions, and engage directly with community members. This initiative aligns with San Luis Province’s broader public health efforts to enhance prevention, early intervention, and comprehensive treatment for addiction issues—especially concerning the rise of online gambling and related concerns.
